Sarah + Brian 2.29.08

My leap year couple! I had such a great time working with these two. It was so fun getting to know them during their engagement session, I was really looking forward to their wedding. They are both so sweet and kind, it was no surprise that each moment of their wedding was packed to the gills with family and friends who love them both (there were about 20 bridesmaids and groomsmen alone!).

They were married in the Salt Lake Temple, and had their reception that night at the The Woods on 9th (with a fabulous lucheon in between at Rodizio Grill). Here's a few of my favorite images from their day!

I love this shot Jake caught of Sarah hugging her little sister after their sealing
Brian's little nephew was so adorable!

Another great shot by Jake

Check out all the great details of their wedding. Check out the ties of the Groomsmen especially! Those were custom made by Sarah's family. Aren't they awesome?
All the lovely ladies. Check out their polkadot rainboots. LOVE IT
The wedding party

Cut the cake and follow with a kiss!
And off they go in the hummer--what else?

Senior-ity

I remember the feelings of being a senior. Excitement that high school was almost OVER, apprehension and a little fear about change and the future, curiosity about where I would be in 5, 10+ years, a little sadness thinking of leaving friends and having to find new ones. It was such a transitional time. I guess that's why I love photographing seniors. It's fun to capture them in that moment. They've reached the end of the corridor for childhood and teenagism (is that even a word?), and are waiting to walk through the door into adulthood.

Here is one such senior who I had the pleasure of photographing and getting to know. Meet Natalie. I had such a great time on this session. Natalie is so sweet and so gorgeous! A little camera shy at first, this girl was definitely working the camera before long. I loved it!

Thanks Natalie! I had a great time with you!

Posing (Jake's first blog entry)

I haven't taken the opportunity to post an entry yet, so I thought now would be a good time. I was taking a picture of Meredith, or so we both thought, but the camera was on video mode. We were standing outside the Paris Hotel in Vegas. I thought her reaction was cute.....

A little Vegas love

We're back from WPPI in Las Vegas and it rocked! I highly recommend attending to all you photographers out there. We flew down Monday morning and spent the days meeting other photogs, attending classes, and wandering around the tradeshow (which is huge and totally overwhelming--but really good). I'm so glad Jake could come with me! Here's a little recap of trip I shot with my point & shoot:

Hanging out at the Tradeshow
Party time with Bludomain at the Parisian Palace

They had gaming tables set up everywhere. The games weren't for money, just fun. We tried our hand at craps (which I still don't understand) and blackjack

With Candice & Paul after the Blu party (paul and I are somehow distantly related and I haven't seen him in years! It was fun to hook up with these guys for the party)
Outside Paris

Our friends Jeff & Jen. They're getting married in May and we'll be heading back down to Vegas to photograph their wedding.
Moon over Paris and Ballys
Bellagio fountain

Jeff & Jen again. We had a great time hanging with you guys!
Some shots of the hotel and signage

Love this guy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
